OA and WaterWatch

Ocean Activist is delighted to be partnering with WaterWatch, a brilliant independent platform making sewage data easier for everyone to understand and use.

Created by developer Daniel Walls, WaterWatch monitors overflow events across 10 UK water companies and almost 25,000 sites. It turns complex official feeds into live maps, clear summaries, site histories and alerts when spills start and stop.

It means swimmers, surfers, paddlers and local communities can see what is happening in their rivers and coastal waters without waiting weeks for a report or trying to decipher technical data.

WaterWatch is independent, transparent and honest about the limitations of the information available. That fits perfectly with what Ocean Activist stands for: greater openness, stronger accountability and cleaner water.

We’re excited to work together and help put clear, timely information into the hands of the people who need it.
