Thank you parliament
We are delighted to report a rare win!
Six months ago, we asked a simple question: Why is the House of Commons festive jumper made from heavily polluting acrylic?
Fast forward to today… and we are genuinely pleased to say that we’ve made some progress.
After raising the issue with the House of Commons Administration Committee (and backed by Exeter MP Steve Race) we’ve had a response.
And here’s the good news... A brand new British wool winter jumper is being introduced, supporting UK farms, using natural fibres, and made closer to home.
* Now here's the reality check: the Christmas jumper itself will still be made from recycled, synthetic material.
So no, we haven’t completely cracked it yet… But this is how change happens.
A nudge → a response → a better product.
And that’s worth recognising.
So thank you House of Commons Admin Committee!
Now let’s go one step further:
💚 Bring the Christmas jumper in line with the wool version
💚 Ditch synthetics altogether
💚 Make it fully natural or truly circular
Because if Parliament can do it, it sets the tone for everyone else.
