Mc Ho Ho...No!
We’ve just read McDonald's big '50-Year Economic Footprint' report.
It contains plenty of back-slapping about responsibility, sustainability and doing the right thing.
Meanwhile… the fast food giant is giving away cheap Grinch socks as part of a Christmas promotion.
We cannot find any info regarding the material these horrendous freebies are made from ... and let’s be honest: they’re almost certainly the usual cheap, synthetic stuff that sheds microplastics and ends up in landfill before Christmas is even over.
And they appear to be packaged in yet more (sigh) plastic.
We’ve emailed the press office to ask for some clarity. But, so far, silence. Not even a polite holding reply.
So how do you shout about your environmental impact on one page, while dishing out cheap tat on the next?
If you’re serious about sustainability, it needs to cover everything — even the give aways.
A note to the McDonald's press office ... HELLO?!
