Not A Good Start
A peaceful protest. A bit of street theatre. Concerned customers making their voices heard.
And the response?
South West Water called the police.
Yes… really.
Parents, pensioners and bill payers stood outside the HQ to mark the arrival of new CEO Keith Haslett — deliberately positioned to avoid blocking access, fully compliant, entirely non-threatening.
Within minutes, officers were dispatched.
Let that sink in.
An already overstretched police force called out… not for crime, but for peaceful protest.
If this is the tone set on day one of “new leadership”, it raises serious questions.
Because when customers are treated like a problem to be managed rather than people to be listened to, something is clearly broken.
To be fair to the officers involved — they saw it for what it was.
The real issue? Not the protest.
The response.
